I am originally from Mississippi where I obtained a Bachelors of Science degree in Microbiology. I worked as a Pulmonary Lab Technician and researcher at the University of Mississippi Medical Center until I began my transition into education. I earned a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Jackson State University and began an Education Specialist Degree in Secondary Education.
In high school, I have taught Advanced Biology, Environmental Science and Botany. I have taught 6th/7th/8th grade Math, 6th/7th grade Compensatory Math and 7th/8th Science. In middle school, I served as team leader, Science Department chair and Instructional Coach.
I have worked 15 years as a middle school educator and I hope to be a positive influence on all students that I encounter.
"The most valuable resource that all teachers have is each other. Without collaboration our growth is limited to our own perspectives."
